The Jordanian properties include the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea, the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba, the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba and two hotels in Petra, the Mövenpick Resort Petra and the Mövenpick Nabatean Castle Hotel. All hotels were recently audited and measured in more than 350 norms and standards, including energy usage, water consumption, waste management and employee training.

Bruno Huber, who oversees properties managed by the Swiss hotel company within the kingdom, said “considerable investment” in alternative energy and other green technologies were made to achieve certification.

Mövenpick is aiming for all its properties to be Green Globe-certified within two years.
