Two years after the initial launch of TripAdvisor’s GreenLeaders program, it’s now gone under into Australia and New Zealand, reports Green Lodging News. The program, which ranks hotels and B&Bs on their eco-friendly features, encompasses more than 8,000 properties in 67 countries (including 170 new entrants in Australia and New Zealand)—making it the world’s largest green hotels program.
Ryan Dillon, responsible travel specialist with TripAdvisor, reveals that GreenLeaders is also now “live” in Latin America and the Caribbean, although TripAdvisor has not made that official announcement yet.
Properties participating in the program range from small independents to the biggest brands in hospitality.
