Our top 10 (plus 5!)
We always say, to thrive green travel has to be great travel. Well, get ready. Here are our top picks. In an increasingly large field of green contenders, they really, really do it right (in a continously improving way, of course)—as eco-friendly stewards and as places that make you gasp “oh, wow” and grin when you remember them later. Our choices of places to stay range from ultra-luxury to indigenous rustic. What they all share is a great green spirit and a great green time. Experiences, by our definition, cover anything from a green African safari to a Oaxacan cooking class.
A final note: we’re not claiming our picks to be the very best in the whole green world. We haven’t been to the whole green world—yet—and we only write about places and things we’ve actually done ourselves. Our bests-of-the-best will evolve as we travel on. All we’re saying is, we think you’ll love each one as much as we did.
